Day 4: Homemade Playdough & Spaghetti Squash Medley

5 Jan

Both kids are sick, so easy and fast are mandatory this week.  Since we’re somewhat housebound, and this mama is really busy, I needed a low exertion fast activity.  Homemade playdough is a favorite of ours (link takes you to the recipe that we use that works best). It smells so much better than the storebought stuff and is a cinch to make.  Camera is acting finicky, so pics to come.  Store it in an airtight container and it lasts for a couple months.  We have found that natural color lasts a little longer than the food colored versions.  We’ve been using regular food coloring, but I think next time we’ll experiment with some natural food dyes.

Also, made a tasty concoction tonight of spaghetti squash with a sauce made from crushed tomatoes, ground beef, onions, blended cauliflower, carrots and broccoli (to hide them from my son) and cheddar cheese.  Super easy and super yummy.
